Domino Is Recognized as a Best Place to Work

By Michelle Arieta, Chief People Officer, Domino on January 11, 2021 in Company Updates

We are humbled and honored to announce that Domino is included in Built In’s 2021 List of Best Places to Work for the San Francisco/Bay Area. Even more exciting is that we were listed in three categories: Best Mid-Size Company, Best Paying Company and Best Overall! We could not have done this without our Domino team members, and are proud of each and every one of their achievements and contributions to Domino.

We recognize that our team members could work at any company and we are honored that they choose to work at Domino. We take great pride in who we hire and understand the responsibility we have to create an inclusive work environment that fosters personal and team growth. More than anything, we see Built In’s recognition as a tribute to our employees who have built a thriving culture and who live our core values every day.

Domino is a unique place to work full of passionate team members that seek the truth in every situation. Employees join us because they want to work alongside devoted team members that take pride in their work.  We don’t always get it right the first time, but our grit and quest for excellence pushes us through complex and ambiguous challenges. We are learning as we grow, both in our products and through our culture, and we’re comfortable with making mistakes, as long as we learn from them. At Domino, we recognize that we are on a journey and believe that one of our greatest assets is employee voice. Truth lives on the front line, through day-to-day employee experiences with customers and with each other. If we continue to listen to our team members, welcome feedback and act on their creative ideas, we can iterate towards the excellence we seek.

In the words of our co-founder and CEO Nick Elprin:

“Everything about our success as a company —  our product, thought leadership, sales, and support — ultimately stems from our people.  I’m incredibly proud to be working alongside so many talented people who want to invent, collaborate, and work hard to help our customers unleash the power of data science.”

We have ambitious goals for this year, including significant growth. We grew 40% last year and have similar plans for 2021. To help us scale, while ensuring we preserve our culture, we continue to develop our people systems and processes with a strong eye to employee experience.

    Our 2021 projects include:

    • Improving and formalizing Manager Development based on the Domino Framework we recently designed.
    • Launching Domino Academy to help onboard and support new team members during their first 30 days at Domino.
    • Enhancing Employee Development through career paths, training and manager feedback loops.

Built In’s Best Places to Work

Built In ranks companies algorithmically based on compensation information, benefits and culture programs. This year, based on data showing tech professionals’ needs, the Best Places to Work algorithm added weight to companies’ commitment to DEI and remote culture. Rank is determined by combining a company’s score in each of these categories. The categories include: 100 Best Places to Work, 50 Best Small Places to Work, 100 Best Midsize Places to Work, 50 Companies with the Best Benefits and 50 Best Paying Companies.
